Why Zizania Texana?
Zizania Texana is the genus name for the rare and endangered species found only in the San Marcos River: Texas Wild Rice. Texas Wild Rice only grows in the first mile of the river, then nowhere else on earth. Having grown up in San Marcos I am passionate about conservation and local wildlife. Zizania Texana represents San Marcos, and our beautiful, unique environment.
